Student Satisfaction with Hostel facilities: A Case Study of Njala University, Njala Campus, Sierra Leone

Aim and Scope: The importance of students' social environments in their day-to-day lives cannot be overstated. extent to which students are happy hostel depends on its facilities' availability, adequacy, functionality. A case study Njala University, campus, was used determine the amenities provided level satisfaction derived from those amenities. Methods: cross-sectional research design conduct through in-field observations a standardized questionnaire. study's sample size estimated at 482 total students. SPSS version 26.0 for data analysis. Result: revealed that 82.0% respondents were within age group 20-29 years, more than two-thirds (70.7%) living overcrowded rooms with population required number persons per room; this is attributed squatting phenomenon among occupants attendant implications increasing pressure available facilities. Equally, reasonably satisfied facilities such as recreational grounds, security status, Library/ICT, waste management electricity. Results showed unhappy adequacy performance certain drainage system, foam, toilet, water supply, kitchen, room size, laundry, firefighting device. Conclusion: For student convenience, enrollment continues rise, paper suggests public-private partnerships established fund construction other hostels updated designs
